Downtown Kinston welcomes Monroe Magic Notary and Shipping Center

A new notary and soon-to-be FedEx shipping center has opened on 408 N Herritage Street.

Monroe Magic, managed by sisters Laura and Carla Monroe, is one of the newest businesses in downtown Kinston, located at 408 N Herritage Street. The notary and soon-to-be FedEx center offer services such as notary signings, faxing, and printing production on yard signs, posters, and banners.

“I know that there are few print shops around here,” said Laura Monroe. “Another reason was to open a FedEx shipping center. I do a lot of loan signings, and everything I do with loan signings goes out with FedEx. We don’t have a FedEx shipper here in Kinston, like where you can go out and get a receipt. We haven’t gotten that going yet, but we are working on it.”

After noticing the lack of FedEx shipping centers in Kinston, the sisters decided to work on opening one up in their notary. They don’t have a set date for when it will be running, but they hope to get it done within the year.

“I knew that Food Farm Printers was closing, the UPS store does a little bit of printing, and Herold Office Supply has moved all of their printing to South Carolina, so anything you take there has to be sent to South Carolina,” said Monroe. “So, there’s not many around here that do small print.”

Monroe Magic is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The business will change its hours to close at 12 p.m. every day in June, July, and August.

“Our dad sold office supplies here in Kinston, and his CB handle was Magic Marker,” said Monroe. “We wanted to do something around the “Magic”. We are both notaries, and we offer notary republic services.”
