Cheers to Five Years: Neuse News Sponsor & Subscriber Appreciation Social

Neuse News is celebrating its fifth-year anniversary! To celebrate this important milestone, Neuse News will be hosting a Sponsor & Subscriber Appreciation Social at Mother Earth Tap Room.

“We can't thank our community enough for helping Neuse News become the dominant and most-trusted news source in our area,” said Neuse News Publisher BJ Murphy. “Our advertisers ensure we remain free and our readers ensure we remain relevant.”

Neuse News provides free hyper-local news for Lenoir, Greene and Jones counties. Starting in 2018, Neuse News has become a consistent source of news in the community. It has established a reputation for offering news without annoying pop-ups or subscription fees.

“At this event, we'll make some announcements regarding the upcoming second year of Neuse News Sports. We'll even have some giveaways featuring a lot of local goodies,” said Murphy.

On Friday, June 23, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm, join the Neuse News team at Mother Earth Tap Room & Beer Garden located at 127 West North Street in Kinston.

“Local food with local beer and listening to local music to support local news seems like a great combination. We're looking forward to having you all there,” said Murphy.

At the social, there will be live music, giveaways, food, announcements, and a cash bar. The Neuse News team looks forward to celebrating their anniversary with the community that has supported them over the last five years.

“Nothing says thank you like a celebration,” said Kristy Kelly, Neuse News Assistant Publisher. “I’m excited to see everyone together, enjoying the fellowship within our community.”

Vice President of Operations Aleatha Thrower has been a part of Neuse News since a few months after the initial launch.

“It has been quite a ride from there to here,” said Thrower. “The future is great for our community as well as for Neuse News. We are here to stay.”

The future looks bright for Neuse News with plans to continue to deliver free hyper-local news to the covered counties. While other news outlets are reducing their content, Neuse News strives to keep its community informed.

“At a time when local newspapers are passing away, I am thankful to be a part of the solution,” said Thrower. “It's needed and our community deserves it.”

Neuse News is a locally-owned small business startup in downtown Kinston. Our goal is to provide free, hyper-local news to Lenoir, Greene and Jones counties. The kind of news our grandparents read in a format fit for today's times.

We provide this by having supportive advertisers and we encourage you to click on their ads, shop with them, and eat with them. Every bit of financial support is important to help us sustain free, hyper-local news.

Please consider supporting Neuse News with as little as $5 one-time or via a monthly option. Every little bit helps us, help you.
