KPD: Guns confiscated during traffic stop, one arrested
Officers initiated a traffic stop with Damani Raines for motor vehicle violations. During the traffic stop, officers observed a firearm in plain view. Officers discovered Rains is currently on probation and is not allowed to possess a firearm. Probation and Parole arrived to assist KPD with the probation violation. During a frisk of the passenger, Shamon Jones, officers located a concealed firearm on his person.
Raines was issued citations for the motor vehicle violations and was taken into custody by Probation and Parole for the violation. Raines was placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
Jones was charged with Carrying Concealed Gun and released from at the scene.
