Roseboro man arrested for hit & run during storm and power outages

During today’s storm and power outage, KPD Officers responded to a Hit & Run near the traffic circle on DR MLK JR Blvd. The offender struck and damaged personal property as he continued driving west on King St. Officers located the offender and his vehicle at the Fuel Warehouse on Hwy 70. During the investigation, it was determined the offender, James Austin of Roseboro NC, was impaired. Austin was placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest officers located narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Austin was placed in the LC Jail after being charged with the following:

-Driving While Impaired

-Hit & Run

-Possession of Schedule VI

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
