Phyllis enjoyed a 30- year career at Glen Raven Mills, working the yarn lines, and retired in October of 1997. After that, she enjoyed cooking, canning and feeding friends and family.
Phyllis is survived by four of her five children, Walter Thomas (Tommy) Taylor (Mitsy), Deborah Taylor Faucette (Kim), Brenda Taylor Twyman (Michael), and Timothy Byron Taylor (Miki), 9 of her 10 Grandchildren, Clint, Aaron, Amy, Lorie, Bruce, Bradley, Brian, Matthew, and Billy Ray, 6 Great Grandchildren, Ely, Isaiah, Azelyn, Devin, Jazmyn, James, and Nola Rae, and her brother Michael Miles McCoy and sister in law Dorie, as well numerous nieces and nephews. Family was everything to Phyllis. Phyllis was a firm friend of Jesus Christ, and never met a soul she wouldn’t help. Phyllis’s most cherished bible verse, “The King will reply. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me,” was how she lived her life.
The family would like to also thank 3HC of Goldsboro for providing top notch care.
