Obituary - Ivey Stroud

Bright “Ivey” Stroud, 88, passed away peacefully in Greensboro, North Carolina on May 31, 2023.

A gathering will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.

Ivey was born on February 20, 1935, in Kinston, N.C. to Bright and May Stroud. He was a life-long resident of his beloved Kinston and Lenoir County and will be greatly missed by a wide circle of family and friends. He attended Grainger High School, Campbell College, and Hardbarger Business College. He was a supervisor at Caswell Center in Kinston for more than 30 years and cherished his relationships with co-workers. He moved to Greensboro in 2018 for health reasons. Ivey was passionate about religion and lived his life accordingly. He enjoyed helping both people and animals in need. He also loved all things related to cars and electronics.

He is survived by his sister, Ann Stroud Sutton; close cousin, Joe Karns and wife, Clarinda of Greensboro; and the many descendants of the Stroud family and friends.
