Obituary: Jesse Raymond Shackelford

Grifton- Jesse Raymond Shackelford lll, 55, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at ECU Medical Center.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 5 – 7pm at Edwards Funeral Home.

Jesse was born in Lenoir County on August 26, 1967, to Jesse and Gail Moore Shackelford. He attended Lenoir County Schools and graduated from North Lenoir High School. In his younger days he enjoyed playing baseball. He excelled in welding, which became his profession. Jesse was a fisherman and hunter in his spare time, however, his greatest enjoyment was being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Shackelford; son, Jesse Shackelford, lV, and wife Crystal; brother, Steven Shackelford and his two children; aunt, Betty Fields. Jesse is also survived by four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Marie Moore; and his sister, Wendy Shackelford.
