KPD detective arrests man for indecent exposure in Wal-Mart
On Thursday, January 11th, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., a plain clothes detective with the Kinston Police Department was conducting foot patrols in Wal-Mart, 4101 W. Vernon Ave. Kinston, N.C. While in the store, the detective observed Nelson Hemby, 51, of Pink Hill, following women and children while inappropriately touching himself. The detective contacted Hemby to investigate, which led to his arrest. Hemby was charged with Felony Indecent Exposure in the Presence of a Minor and placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
