Obituary: William Franklin “Fuzzy” Hill
Deep Run— William Franklin “Fuzzy” Hill, 80, of Deep Run passed away on Saturday January 20, 2024. Fuzzy was born October 10, 1943 in Lenoir County to Frances and Frank Hill of Emerald Isle, formerly of Kinston. He joined the Army Reserves in 1966 from which he retired after 30 years of honorable service. Fuzzy married Linda Langston Hill on August 3, 1969, and they shared three children, Wendi Kaye, Kathy Jo, and Will Hill. He worked locally at Swift Packing Company for many years as well at Proctor and Gamble where he officially retired. Fuzzy enjoyed simple pursuits— being in his yard with his dog, watching ball games, and playing music with family and at his church, Freedom Fellowship Church of Deep Run.
Fuzzy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Faron Hill, and more recently his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Langston Hill. Surviving family members include his brother, Foye Hill of Snow Hill, sisters-in-laws, Brenda (Larry) Powell of Deep Run, Myrtle Langston of Kinston, and Lorene Langston of Newport, his children, Wendi Powell (Walter), Kathy Foster (Allen), Will Hill (Angela), 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28 at 6:00pm at Howard Carter Funeral Home, and a private burial service will follow on Monday, January 29 at Westview Cemetery.
