Kinston man was arrested for car theft
A Kinston man was arrested earlier this week for car theft.
Anthony Deon Best, 48, was taken into custody by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies Monday while driving a 2018 black Kia Soul. The arrest, which was aided by the Kinston Police Department, came after an initial investigation into eight vehicles being damaged at a garage off U.S. 258 South in Kinston.
Best was intercepted in the Kia at the intersection of Harvey Street and MLK Jr. Blvd. in Kinston. He was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and driving with license revoked.
He received a $30,000 secured bond and is currently in the Lenoir County Jail.
