Kinston Man Arrested After Shots Fired Incident

On October 26, 2024, at approximately 12:15 PM, officers from A-Squad responded to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of S. McDaniels Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that 53-year-old Charles McPhail had allegedly fired shots at the caller while brandishing a firearm.

During the investigation, officers confirmed that McPhail had an active warrant related to an unrelated incident. Efforts to have him exit the residence were unsuccessful, prompting officers to gain entry and take him into custody.

In addition to the existing warrant, McPhail faces multiple charges, including two counts of Resisting a Public Officer, Going Armed to the Terror of the People, Disorderly Conduct, and Assault by Pointing a Gun.
