Kinston man wanted for kidnapping in Greene County

A Kinston man wanted for felony kidnapping in Greene County was apprehended by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Saturday.

Santos Alexis Ventura, 21, was arrested by LCSO’s B Shift deputies when they responded to a call about a fugitive in the Helen Court area of Kinston, south of the Hugo community. When deputies responded, Ventura attempted to flee on foot but was caught after a brief pursuit.

He was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, where he was charged with:

·      Felony warrant for arrest for kidnapping (issued by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office)

·      Misdemeanor resist/delay/obstruct

·      Outstanding warrant for arrest for misdemeanor simple assault

He received no bond for the felony and a combined $1,800 secured bond for the other charges.
