Letter to the Editor: Lenoir County Board of Education race
Just four years ago, in the midst of the pandemic, we ran for Lenoir County Board of Education - At Large, in an effort to fill the board seats with some parents. It was important then due to the continued closing of schools, and more important now. We hope you will not forget that the people making decisions regarding education in our public schools must be in touch with what is happening.
These At-Large positions on the ballot need to be filled by parents that want to support the schools and have the current knowledge base to do the job. They represent the entire county and your vote will make a direct difference in the decisions made in Lenoir County Public Schools over the next 4 years.
Of the 7 members of the Board of Education, only one has children currently in the school system and that is Michelle Davis Cash. It is time to turn the tide of the board and have people that are visible and present in the schools representing all of us.
The entire county gets a vote and we hope your vote will go to support Shannan Harrison and Jonathan Britt for Lenoir County Board of Education - At-Large. On the back side of your ballot, be sure to remember that you have the option to vote for 2 of the 4 candidates.
Thanks,
Michelle Davis Cash, current LCPS Board of Education member
and
Nancy Gilmore
