A Journey Rooted in Education and Leadership

Blount, a proud New Bern native and North Carolina Central University graduate, has dedicated her career to teaching and mentoring young minds. For six years, she has cultivated a love of learning among her students while also serving as a coach for volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Her passion for shaping future leaders extends beyond the classroom, where she is currently advancing her skills through the edTPA program.

“Teaching and coaching are deeply intertwined for me,” Blount shares. “Both roles allow me to inspire confidence, resilience, and growth in young people, whether on the court or in the classroom.”

A Social Media Influencer with Purpose

Beyond her career in education, Blount has gained recognition as a social media influencer, collaborating with major brands such as ELF, Urban Decay, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. With a global following of over 300,000, her platform has become a space for inspiration, empowerment, and meaningful dialogue.

“Social media has the power to amplify voices and create real change,” Blount says. “As a young Black educator and influencer, I want to show others that it’s possible to stay authentic while making an impact in both digital and real-world spaces.”

Championing Representation at the Social Media Summit

The Social Media Summit 2025 (SMS2025), set to take place on January 31 in Kinston, will focus on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in social media under the theme “AI + Social: Innovate | Automate | Dominate.” As a panelist, Blount plans to delve into how educators and influencers can use social platforms to foster authenticity and connection.

“I’m excited to discuss strategies for creating content that resonates with diverse audiences, especially in underrepresented communities,” Blount explains. “Social media isn’t just about trends; it’s about building relationships and using your platform responsibly.”

Looking Ahead

When asked about her future, Blount envisions expanding her leadership both in education and on social media. “In five years, I see myself mentoring others—educators, students, and influencers alike. I want to be a resource for anyone who feels unseen or underestimated, showing them that their journey matters.”

Her participation in the Social Media Summit 2025 (SMS2025) underscores her commitment to representation and innovation, offering a voice that bridges the worlds of education and digital influence.
