Kinston Alumnae Hosts 2024 Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant on April 12
The Kinston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is hosting its 2024 Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant on April 12, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the Briley Auditorium at Lenoir Community College. This year's theme, "Royalty in Bloom: Grace, Greatness, and Glam," sets the tone for the event.
Eleven students from local high schools will vie for the titles of Mr. and Miss Jabberwock, showcasing their exceptional scholarship and character. Actively engaged in school and community activities, these contestants and their parents have collaborated with chapter sponsors to raise funds for college scholarships, all while aspiring to be crowned King or Queen.
Since its inception in 1960, the local Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. chapter has biennially organized this pageant to support scholarships and community initiatives. The contestants have participated in various community activities, including meet and greets for Kings and Queens, volunteering at St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, engaging in resume building and mock interviews, partaking in Adopt-the-Highway clean-up efforts, and attending "Dinner with Grace: Lessons of Etiquette."
The Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant will feature the following contestants:
JaNia Best, Tiyah Chapman, Aimee Dail, Marquez Graham, Denaysha Green, Mi’Keasia Green, Zi’Yania Jenkins, Shamaya Lynch, Leslie Mahone, Kayla Skinner, and Gabrielle Smith.
The Kinston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. cordially invites residents from local and neighboring counties to join us for an extraordinary evening. Admission to the pageant is $15.00, and tickets will be available exclusively at the door.
