KPD links vehicle fire and theft to Jones County case
KPD Detectives with the Investigation Division were actively investigating a vehicle fire that occurred on 02/23/2024 and a stolen vehicle report that occurred on 02/25/2024.
Detectives received information from Jones County that Jonathan Lee was involved in an Attempted Murder Investigation and was taken into custody after he crashed the stolen vehicle.
KPD Detectives continued investigating the incidents and it was determined that the KPD cases and the Jones County cases were all related. KPD Detectives obtained warrants on Lee for Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Felony Burning of Personal Property. While Lee was in the custody of JCSO for Attempted Frist Degree Murder, the KPD warrants were served.
