Coastal Plains Junior Livestock Show & Sale: April 1st-2nd
The 84th Annual Coastal Plains Junior Livestock Show and Sale is right around the corner and we want to invite everyone to join us on April 1st and 2nd at the Lenoir County Livestock Arena.
Every year over 125 youth from Pitt, Greene, Lenoir, Craven, Jones, Carteret, Cumberland, Onslow, Duplin, Sampson, Pamlico, and Pender counties participate in this event. These youth have been working with their livestock for many months and have put in a lot of time and hard work. This livestock project teaches youth valuable skills such as accountability, dependability, and responsibility, while raising some money for their hard work.
The show will start at 1 PM Monday with our goat and lamb show, followed by our cattle show. Tuesday we will start with our market hog show at 8:30 AM and that evening we will have our awards, dinner and SALE! Dinner starts at 6 PM and the Sale starts at 7 PM.
Supporting a child through the purchase of their animals is easy. Any buyer should be present at the sale to bid effectively. Animals are sold by the head and the final sale price is up to the individual buyer.
BUYERS PAYING PREMIUM MONEY DO NOT TAKE HOME ANIMALS.
Anyone interested in buying a large lot of animals needs to contact Kaelyn Mohrfeld prior to the sale so we can give you the opportunity to bid on the “deck”. If you are looking for your youth to get involved, come join our rookie show! No animal is needed as you will borrow one of ours! We look forward to seeing everyone there!
