Lenoir County Farmer's Market update for April 20, 2024
The Lenoir County Farmer’s Market is located at 100 North Heritage Street. The market is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Y'all, we are going to have the most fun on Saturday, so don't miss it. We are celebrating STRAWBERRY DAY! There will be a DESSERT CONTEST with a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the market and a $25 gift certificate to the junior who creates and brings their best dessert to the market. So, get your thinking cap on and bring your desserts to the Rick Holder Annex Kitchen by 10 o'clock on Saturday morning.
To add to the fun, there will be TUNDRATOWN ICE CREAM serving their take on strawberry shortcake, and WILL'S STRICTLY TURKEY BARBECUE will bring his truck and serve his delicious barbecue.
Seraphim Smith will be with us selling strawberry danishes made with real homemade laminated dough. Come early if you want to taste one of these special treats.
We welcome Jennifer Wilson, WREATH ME UP, as a new vendor this week. Please stop by and welcome Jennifer to the market... or better yet, buy a wreath!

Dennis has a variety of pepper plants, watermelon, tomato, and sunflower plants, as well as the adorable bird feeder shown above.
Sandra, better known as THE EGG LADY, will have farm fresh eggs, crafts, a variety of "naturally grown" tomato plants, lemon cucumber and cantaloupe plants, and her now-famous "LIQUID GOLD" banana nut bread with chocolate chips and fresh strawberries.
Great news... PORTER FARMS will return to the market with wonderful strawberries and some delicious jams and jellies, salad dressings, marinades, and salsas. There will be a sample of the strawberry jalapeno jam to taste!
Of course, TC SMITH PRODUCE will be back with their ever-favorite strawberries and asparagus... they have added turnip greens and mustard plus other veggies... and don't forget the PORK SKIN MAN! He'll be around with those ever-popular pork skins, rinds, and fried peanuts AND his funnel cakes!
