50 Year Old Dover Man Struck by Vehicle

KPD Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian stuck by a motor on the 1900 block of Towerhill Road. Officers arrived on scene and located the pedestrian, (50 year old male from Dover) and the driver Anthony Belcher (50 of Snow Hill). It was determined that pedestrian was walking outside of the roadway when Belcher swerved to avoid an animal, left the roadway and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was ultimately transported to ECU Health Medical Center.
Belcher was cited for:
-Exceeding the Posted Speed,
-Failure to Maintain Lane Control
-Left of Center.
