Lenoir County Farmer's Market update for May 11, 2024

The Lenoir County Farmer’s Market is located at 100 North Heritage Street. The market is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Tobia Leighton of Bella Nikko will have a special activity for adults and children! She will offer mini classes on beading and knotting bracelets. Come down, bring your young ones, and learn to make a new bracelet to wear home.

She will also bring her lovely concrete planters, bowls, and necklaces. Be sure to talk to her about how she makes her items; it's very interesting.

NEXT SATURDAY... Tobia will do a tie-dyeing class, so bring a plain old or new shirt and leave with a beauty of your own design! This will be tons of fun for everyone!

And if that's not enough, Tobia will offer classes throughout the summer on the following techniques:

  • ART CLASSES

    • Drawing 1

    • Drawing 2

    • Beading

    • Knotting

    • Tie-dyeing

Now, y'all, with all those classes, there is something for everyone to do! Stay tuned each Friday morning for the announcement of the next day's class. This is really an exciting venture, so come on down to the market and have fun with us!

We are so very lucky to have Seraphim and Julie hard at work in the kitchen at the RICK HOLDER ANNEX KITCHEN. Seraphim will be baking Rustic Rosemary Round loaves and serving samples of it with savory butters, as well as with lemon jam. 50% of all sales go toward a fund for the Farmers Market to purchase equipment for the new kitchen.

And even more good news... Julie Babbin will be using the kitchen's fryer to make some hot doughnuts to enjoy with a cup of hot coffee.

This Saturday just gets more and more exciting! Don't miss it, and while you are there, take a tour of the new kitchen. It is going to get even more fun... watch for more info in the newsletter!
