Obituary: Alben Thomas Lokey, III

Alben Thomas Lokey, III, of Knoxville, TN, formerly from Kinston, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 17, at 3PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Alben was born September 17, 1962, in Kinston, N.C. When Alben was 19 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He worked in collision auto repair and in 1988 at the age of 26, he founded A&L Body Shop, which has now grown from a small shop to being the predominant vehicle repair facility in the area. Alben moved to Emerald Isle in 2006 and in 2012 he sold his business before he and his family relocated to Tennessee.

Alben is survived by his wife, Ann M. Lokey; sons, Brandon Lokey and wife Meridith, Tommy Lokey; daughters, Kristina Cagle, Lauren Gardner and husband James; granddaughter, Peyton Lokey; his mother, Betty Lokey Naylor; father, Alben T. Lokey, Jr.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alben T. Lokey, Sr., Ruby Lee Craft Lokey, Carl and Lela Sanderson.
