Kinston woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing incident

A Kinston woman is behind bars after being charged with attempted first degree murder by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

Kendra Sasha Edmondson, 36, was taken into custody after allegedly stabbing Jaquez Rasheem Herring, 31, of Kinston, in the neck. LCSO deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of Bonnie Lane in Kinston shortly after 2 a.m. today for a report of a person being stabbed.

Herring was stabbed in the right side of his neck and transported to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, where he was treated for his injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.

While on the scene of the stabbing, LCSO detectives and B-Shift deputies developed Edmondson as the suspect and quickly took her into custody. Edmondson was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder; she was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, where she received no bond.
