Felon arrested for gun and assault violations

KPD's C-Squad responded to a residence on Waverly Avenue for a report of shots fired within a residence. Officers arrived on scene and their investigation revealed that convicted felon - Sean Croom (50 of Kinston) accused his uncle of stealing his firearm. A physical altercation ensued between the two men and Croom fired a shot while standing in the living room. Officers located Croom at his residence on Carolina Avenue. Officers continued their investigation and seized 2 firearms from the residence and placed Croom under arrest for the following:
-Possession of a Firearm by Felon
-Assault by Pointing a Gun (3 counts)
-Discharging a Firearm Withing Enclosure to Incite Fear
-False Imprisonment
-Communicating Threats
