Obituary: Mary Frances Lane Jones
La GRANGE: Mrs. Mary Frances Lane Jones, age 93, passed away at her home Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024. One of ten children, she was born March 29, 1931, the son of Troy Lane and Hokey Tyndall Lane.
Mrs. Lane was a lifelong resident of Greene County and a member of Wheat Swamp Christian Church where she once served as a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Group Leader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all her siblings and her husband, Wilbur J. Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lane Jones of the home; and sisters-in-law, Ethelene Lane of Pinetops and Donna Griffin Lane of Wilmington; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Thursday, June 27th, at the Chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Hank Jarman officiating. Committal Services will be held privately at the Jones Family Cemetery.
The family will greet friends and extended relatives at the funeral home on Thursday immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to Wheat Swamp Christian Church, 3732 Wheat Swamp Road, La Grange, NC 28551.
