Lenoir County man arrested for Soliciting the Unlawful Purchase of Ammunition and Cocaine Possession

On May 30th, 2024, at 1833 hours, KPD's Violent Crime Action Team conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. The driver was identified as Alvin Dove (48 of Lenoir County). A probable cause search revealed suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and firearm ammunition. The items were seized and Dove was released at the scene pending further investigation.

Detectives continued investigate this incident and tested the suspected cocaine. The test was positive for cocaine. Detectives also followed up on the firearm ammunition seized and discovered Dove is a convicted felon and under federal law can not possess firearm ammunition.

On May 31, 2024, Detected obtained warrants on Dove for Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Soliciting the Unlawful Purchase of Ammunition. Dove was taken into custody and placed in the Lenoir County Jail.
