Public Hearing: Fiscal Year 2024-2024 Manager's Recommended Budget

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

Fiscal Year 2024-2025 

Manager’s Recommended Budget 

In accordance with N.C.G.S. 159-12(b) for the purpose of taking comments from  the public with regards to the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget, as proposed and submitted by the County Manager to the Board of Commissioners on May 20, 2024, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, June 17,  2024, during the regular meeting of the Commissioners which begins at 4:00 p.m. in the  Commissioner’s Chambers located at 101 N Queen Street, Kinston, NC, second floor. 

At the time of the public hearing, the Board may adopt the FY 24-25 budget and  budget ordinance or they may adopt these measures at a later date, but no later than June  30, 2024.  

The Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget, as submitted, for Lenoir County government,  proposes appropriated fund balance of $1,704,230 to balance the budget, revenues of  $80,561,355 with the tax rate remaining the same at $.845 per $100 valuation of property  listed in Lenoir County for taxation as of January 1, 2024. 

Copies of the budget and budget summaries are available in the County  Manager’s Office, located, at 101 N. Queen St., Kinston, NC, second floor. The budget  may also be accessed on the county’s web page, lenoircountync.gov under the Finance  Department.
