Obituary: Elizabeth Marie Price
Elizabeth Marie Price of Kinston, NC passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2024.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 19, at 11am at Bethel FWB Church. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In loving memory of our loved one who was known as daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, Rie-Rie, aunt, friend and Mrs. Price. She was loved and in turn loved others.
She was born into a working family, and inherited "the Stroud work ethic." We have been told stories of her plowing fields with a mule at an early age. She developed a love for gardening and flowers with hoe in hand like "big sister Dorothy".
The one and only love of her life was James Price, who also knew Jesus Christ as Savior and they served together faithfully in the Lord's vineyard side by side. Now they are side by side again where she had longed to be since his passing.
A homemaker all of her adult life, she cared for her husband and children. She faithfully cared for her daughter who passed away with cancer, and she continued ministering in love to her son who had suffered from strokes. She was grieved at the passing of her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, which she loved very much.
One of her loves in life was Christmas and her Christmas room that was full of village pieces and more. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved it and even other family members shared the room with their grandchildren. Their faces all lit up with joy entering the lighted room. However, her face was the brightest.
After all her love for family, she deeply loved her church. She looked forward to the ladies that visited on Wednesdays; and the attention she received from meals, cards, and prayers from Bethel Church. The main abiding love for Marie Price, our loved one, was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was the first Stroud to be saved many, many years ago. She made it her mission to spread the gospel of Christ to her family. She left a long, strong legacy of witnessing for Jesus. She is in Heaven today with many that she helped lead to Christ, and many are still continuing her legacy. We are confident today that she is standing beside her Lord and Savior Jesus and praying that those who do not know HIM personally would be saved today.
Marie is survived by her son, Jimmy Price; brothers, Franklin Stroud and wife Nancy, and William Stroud; grandson, Tommy Price and wife Amanda and their children, Zachary, Evan and Ethan, grandson Eddie and wife Ivey and their children William, Emerson and Finn, grandson, James Turner and his Christine and their daughter Skylar, granddaughter Kari Bienko and her husband Pete and their daughter Bailey and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Price, daughter, Janice Turner, son-in-law, Gene Turner, daughter-in-law, Myra Jo Price, parents, Leslie and Barbara Stroud, brothers, Leslie Stroud, Jr. and Lemuel Stroud, sisters, Helen Grayson, Dorothy Alphin, Carol Hardison, and Judy Croom.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1936 Banks School Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Spring Arbor of Kinston and Gentiva Hospice for her care during these last months.
AND NOW ABIDETH FAITH, HOPE, CHARITY (love), THESE THREE; BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE. I Cor. 13:13
