Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. (GIENC) to host community outreach event

GIENC, Baptists on Mission, and Ripe Revival team up to provide free medical screenings, dental care, legal aid, food packages, and STEAM education to Kinston residents.

DURHAM, N.C. (July 15, 2024) — Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. (GIENC®) will hold a Community Outreach Event Fri., July 19 at its Kinston store at 4190 W. Vernon Ave. The event will include free medical screenings and dental care (via Baptists on Mission), free legal aid (via Legal Aid of North Carolina), a pay-what you can mobile food market (via Ripe for Revival), and free STEAM educational experiences (via GIENC’s mobile STEAM lab). By expanding access to these vital resources for Kinston residents, GIENC will continue its mission of transforming lives through life-enrichment opportunities.

Health screenings may include vital sign, cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and vision assessments. Dental services — like extractions, fillings, and cleanings — will be available.

Who: Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina (GIENC®), Baptists on Mission (BoM), and Ripe Revival 

When:  Fri., July 19 

  • Medical and Dental Screenings: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (BoM)

  • Food Distribution: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Ripe Revival)

  • Legal Aid: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

  • STEAM Lab: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Where: GIENC’s Kinston Store | 4190 W. Vernon Ave., Kinston , N.C. 28504

Why: To provide life-enrichment opportunities to the residents of Kinston.

Kinston residents should call Rev. Malcolm Lewis at 910-233-3737 for an appointment. Those without an appointment will not be served.
