Get ready to rock and roll this summer as Lenoir Community College proudly presents School of Rock The Musical! This high-energy show brings the spirit of rock 'n' roll to life, following the hilarious and heartwarming journey of a wannabe rock star who turns a class of straight-A students into a mind-blowing rock band. With catchy tunes, electrifying performances, and a story that celebrates the power of music and self-discovery, this show promises to be the must-see event of the season.

The show, directed by Lenoir Community College's Fine Arts Program Chair Jessica Cruz, will occur on July 12 -14 and July 19 - 21 at LCC in the Briley Auditorium on the Turner Stage. Neuse News is the title sponsor. This show is one of many that will be a part of the performing arts series at LCC. Tickets are available now at www.lenoircc.edu/schoolofrock. Tickets are $15 for accessible seating; $20 for orchestra seating; $15 for standard seating; and $10 for student standard seating (ages 4-17; 18+ student ID required).

Jude Brewer, playing the part of Mason in this show, has previously been Larry the Lobster in SpongeBob The Musical, Tommy in Matilda the Musical, and Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol. Brewer is a rising fourth grader attending Riverside Leadership Academy in New Bern and loves gaming, Pokémon, and dinosaurs.

Taking on the role of Tomika in this performance is Nia-Simone Carter. Carter has been dancing and performing since she was young. You might have previously seen her as Charlie in Willy Wonka, Jr. and as Flounder in The Little Mermaid. She enjoys dancing, fishing, sketching and playing basketball and soccer in her free time.

Tayla Hooker will be playing the part of Jamie in this upcoming production! This vibrant 10-year-old is a proud fifth grader at Moss Hill Elementary. She is gearing up for her debut show, and she couldn't be more thrilled to share this incredible experience with her big sister, Tameya.

Excited to embark on this journey with her little sister Tayla, ensemble member Tameya Hooker is a 15-year-old sophomore at South Lenoir High School. This will be her third time gracing the stage with her previous shows being Matilda The Musical and The Little Mermaid.

Stepping into the role of Billy in this show, Christian Oleneack loves performing with his friends. When he is not on stage, you will find him on the wrestling team at Grover C. Fields Middle school, and next year, Oleneack hopes to join his sister at dance. This will be his third time on the Turner Stage, and he is extremely excited for everyone to come see this show.

The role of Katie will be played by Lilly Ranieri. Ranieri is a soon to be sixth grade student at Riverside Leadership Academy in New Bern. Previously, she has taken on the roles of Belinda Cratchit in A Christmas Carol and Hortensia in Matilda The Musical. To prepare for this role, she has taken on the task of learning to play the bass guitar. Her mom and dad are so proud of her!

Jack Rooney will be a part of the ensemble for this show. Rooney is currently a student at LCC and has been involved in the world of theater for many years. In his free time, he enjoys reading all genres of books and working out. Rooney has been a fan of rock music his whole life, making this show one he is excited for.
