Lenoir County Emergency new mobile command unit

Lenoir County Emergency Services has added a valuable resource to its capabilities.

LCES can now set up a mobile command unit at an incident. The Scotty 35-foot command trailer from Mobile Concepts Specialty Vehicles can offer a wide range of core capabilities to responders in the field. This creates better situational awareness, scene stability and operational coordination between responding agencies.

The new addition was made possible through a competitive grant process known as the FY23 Capacity Building Competitive Grant. Program funding was allocated by N.C. Rep. Chris Humphrey (R-Lenoir) and the N.C. General Assembly to build local emergency management capacities across North Carolina.

“Recognizing the need to strengthen local emergency management and keep our communities safe, we appropriated funds for the state's Capacity Building Competitive Grant -- providing Lenoir County Emergency Services with a command trailer that will enhance response capabilities,” said Humphrey. “This state-of-the-art equipment will ensure that our emergency services personnel are better equipped to handle any situation with greater efficiency and coordination.”

“We are very appreciative of the grant opportunities such as these and the support for local emergency management agencies,” LCES Director Murry Stroud said.
