Welfare check on Wednesday turned into a narcotics investigation

A welfare check on Wednesday turned into a narcotics investigation that resulted in the arrest of two La Grange residents on multiple drug charges.

At around 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 2500 block of Lang Skinner Drive in La Grange to perform a welfare check on two juveniles. When LCSO B-Shift deputies and representatives from the Lenoir County Department of Social Services arrived, they made contact with Kallen Don Sexton, 34, and Cameron Robert Diamond, 34, both of La Grange.

Following the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for the pair. They were taken into custody and transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where they received secured bonds for the following charges:

·      Trafficking in cocaine

·      Felony possession of Schedule I controlled substance

·      Felony possession of methamphetamine

·      Felony maintain place for controlled substance

·      Possession of marijuana up to 1 ½ ounces

·      Possession of marijuana paraphernalia

·      Possession of drug paraphernalia
