Registered sex offender arrested for being at Holloway Community Center

A registered sex offender is behind bars after illegally being at Holloway Community Center.

Erik Devaughn Harris, of Kinston, was arrested Monday night following an investigation by the General Investigation Division of the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office revealed the 40-year-old was at the community center at 101 N. Myrtle Ave., on Saturday, July 13.

Harris was arrested without incident at 1306 Desmond St., Kinston, Monday around 9 p.m., and charged with being a sex offender on child premises. He was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, where he received a $15,000 secured bond.

Harris was also served with a parole violation charge by the N.C. Department of Adult Correction and received no bond for that charge.
