Man charged with felony larceny conspiracy at Lenoir County jail

A man already housed at the Lenoir County Detention Center was charged Tuesday with conspiracy to commit felony larceny in an event that happened on July 9.

Jason Eugene Smith, 41, of Kinston, received that felony charge Tuesday after detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office General Investigation Division obtained a warrant for him. Smith was brought to the magistrate from the jail and received no bond due to pretrial release.

The felony larceny occurred on July 9 at a Willie Measley Road residence in La Grange. The stolen property was returned to the owner after LCSO detectives arrested Mark Anthony Mann, 67, of Kinston for felony possession of stolen property on July 23.
