Obituary: Kathryn Sellars Carpenter Watson
Kathryn Sellars Carpenter Watson, 74 of Selma gained her heavenly wings on August 22 at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded with love from her 3 children, Anthony Watson, Christy Watson, Amanda Watson Lopez and her husband Otoniel Manuel Lopez.
Kathy was born and raised in Durham, NC to William Jackson Carpenter and Margarett Sellars Carpenter on August 5, 1950. She went to school for Business at Durham Junior College and Campbell College. Kathy was a foster mother for several years, then eventually became the mother of four adopted children. She loved children so much that she became a substitute teacher in the Wayne & Wake County Public School Systems for many years! Kathy loved attending church when she could and loved to listen to music. She became a grandmother and enjoyed spoiling them, assisting them with homework and studying.
She had made many friends throughout her years of living and working. Everyone that met her was always drawn to her loving demeanor.
She had a passion for people, family, traveling, her faith and animals. Cats were her favorite! She was always encouraging others to do their best and always looked for the best in others! Kathy was a fighter to the very end and left this world in peace into the arms of our Heavenly Father. She will forever be loved and missed beyond measure!
Memorial Service will be in Goldsboro NC at Fresh Start Home Church Ministries at 414 Shadowy Lane, Goldsboro NC 27530 at 11am on Saturday August 31, 2024. There will be Purple Bows on the Mailbox.
