As the summer break draws to a close, Lenoir County Public Schools (LCPS) eagerly welcomes back approximately 8,300 K-12 students to 17 educational facilities across Kinston and Lenoir County.
As students and teachers return to the classroom, several schools across the district have already made a splash with their warm welcomes and strong starts:
Pink Hill Elementary School: The staff at Pink Hill Elementary began their first day with a delicious breakfast, thanks to the generosity of community members. A special thank you goes out to Jonathan Britt, Commissioner J Mac Daughety, Representative Chris Humphrey, Senator Bob Brinson, and Commissioner Keith King for their continued support of the school.
Southeast Elementary School: Southeast Elementary kicked off the year with an enthusiastic welcome back to its teachers. The school extends heartfelt gratitude to its amazing teachers for their dedication and hard work. A big thank you also goes to the Kinston Police Department for their ongoing support, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
EB Frink Middle School: EB Frink Middle School expresses its deep appreciation to Engage L.A. for their generous donation of student supplies. These contributions are essential in helping students succeed throughout the year, and the school community is grateful for this meaningful support.
North Lenoir High School: At North Lenoir High School, excitement is in the air as students eagerly pick up their yearbooks from Mrs. Swinson in the Media Center. For those who missed out on ordering a yearbook, there are still copies available for purchase at $65. It's the perfect keepsake to capture the memories of a new academic year.
Welcome back to school, LCPS students and staff! Let’s make this year one to remember.
