LCSO: Two arrested, charged with larceny
Two individuals from Kinston were placed behind bars on larceny charges last week.

On Aug. 29, the owner of the metal contacted the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and told investigators he had observed a metal frame with diamond-shaped metal on top of it and 4-foot wire racks at a local recycling plant. The Judy Lane residence owner reported the metal was his property to deputies who responded to a report of stolen property at the residence.
LCSO General Investigations Division detectives interviewed witnesses and gathered details need for developing suspects in this incident. Warrants were obtained for the Newsomes and they were each charged with larceny, obtaining property by false pretense and conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense.
The LCSO’s Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) team arrested the two and transported them to the Lenoir County Magistrates Office. David Newsome received a no-bond hold due to being out of jail on pretrial release. Tracy Newsome received a $10,000 unsecured bond and was released.
