Two arrested in connection to Dec. 8 Lenoir County homicide
A Lenoir County woman and a Goldsboro man have been arrested on first degree murder charges for a homicide that took place on Dec. 8 in Lenoir County.
Nyasia Perkins, 26, and Calvin Coley, 29, were arrested Wednesday following several weeks of investigation by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office detectives. Perkins was arrested at her place of employment in Kinston around noon while Coley was arrested at his place of employment in Kinston at around 4 p.m. behind pallets of inventory following an hour-long search.
Just after midnight on Sunday, Dec. 8, LCSO detectives were sent to 943 Sweet Amy Lane in Lenoir County in reference to a report of a subject being shot during a reported breaking-and-entering call. At the scene, deputies found Quinton Gray lying shot to death in his living room. The death was deemed a homicide after the initial investigation.
Perkins (also of the 943 Sweet Amy Lane residence) and Coley were processed Wednesday and placed in the Lenoir County Jail without bond to await their first appearance that was set for today. Both were charged with first degree murder and felony conspiracy.
