Lenoir County woman arrested on meth trafficking charges after investigation

A three-month investigation into the selling and distribution of methamphetamine in Lenoir County resulted in the arrest of a Lenoir County woman on Thursday.

Following the investigation, Jennifer Carolina Bell, 41, had warrants on four charges of trafficking methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance issued against her. Thursday afternoon, Bell was arrested by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) and narcotics officers during a traffic stop in which she was a passenger.

During the vehicle stop on John Greene Smith Road in Lenoir County, detectives obtained probable cause for a search and found additional methamphetamine on Bell. She was placed into custody for the existing arrest warrants and received new charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute Schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bell, who stated she didn’t have an address but that she slept in different places throughout the county, was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where she received a $301,000 secured bond.
