Humphrey takes office for fourth term in North Carolina House
RALEIGH, N.C. — State Representative Chris Humphrey (R – Lenoir, Greene, Jones) was officially sworn in for his fourth term in the North Carolina House of Representatives on Wednesday, reaffirming his commitment to serving the citizens of District 12 with integrity, dedication, and a focus on common-sense solutions.
“It’s an honor and privilege to continue representing the people of Eastern North Carolina,” said Representative Humphrey, “This term brings new opportunities to champion the issues that matter most to our communities, from building flood-resilient infrastructure and fostering economic growth to strengthening our schools and ensuring a high quality of life for all our residents.”
As a respected member of the General Assembly, Representative Humphrey has consistently prioritized fiscal responsibility, investments in infrastructure, and policies that promote job creation and support small businesses. Over the years, he has played a key role in advancing flood mitigation measures, advocating for rural broadband expansion, and securing resources for the region’s agricultural and manufacturing sectors.
In addition to his legislative duties, Humphrey serves on several key committees, where his leadership has proven instrumental in shaping policies that benefit the state and his district. He looks forward to continuing this work in the upcoming session.
“Eastern North Carolina deserves strong, effective representation, and I remain committed to working with my colleagues to deliver real results,” Humphrey added, “Together, we can build a brighter future for our families, our businesses, and our communities.”
Representative Humphrey, a native of Kinston, has deep roots in the region and has been a lifelong advocate for his community. In addition to his public service, he is active in local civic organizations and is proud to support initiatives that uplift the people of Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties.
