Magic Mile Media is proud to announce the promotion of Trey Scott to Vice President of Sports Media & Digital Strategy. In this role, Trey will continue leading Neuse News Sports while expanding our digital sports media division.
“Trey’s passion for sports and love for student-athletes is undeniable,” said BJ Murphy, President & CEO of Magic Mile Media. “He pours himself into his work, constantly pushing to tell the right stories, highlight the right moments, and give these athletes the recognition they deserve. His dedication to his craft, his relentless pursuit of excellence, and his ability to connect with players, coaches, and fans make him an invaluable part of our team. We are all better because of Trey Scott.”
As Chief Correspondent for Neuse News Sports, Trey has grown the platform from 600 to over 10,000 followers, leading a regional high school sports show that regularly draws 20K-30K viewers per episode. He has also been instrumental in launching "Down the Line", a high school baseball podcast, and "NNS GameDay", a football show that has become a staple in local sports coverage.
“Promoting Trey to VP of Sports Media & Digital Strategy was an easy decision,” Murphy added. “His leadership, vision, and relentless drive have already helped us elevate Neuse News Sports, and with the opportunities ahead, I have no doubt he’ll take our digital sports media presence to the next level. I’m looking forward to seeing where we grow from here.”
With a strong background in NCAA Division I coverage, Trey has reported on NCAA Tournaments, ACC Championships, NFL Draft Pro Days, and elite recruiting prospects for Tar Heel Illustrated (Rivals Network). His ability to provide exclusive insights, conduct high-profile interviews, and deliver in-depth analysis has made him a trusted source in high school and collegiate sports journalism.
"This is a big deal for us at Magic Mile Media! Trey Scott has been killing it with Neuse News Sports, and this promotion is well deserved,” said Aleatha Thrower, VP of Operations at Magic Mile Media. “He’s taken our sports coverage to another level, and we’re just getting started. With him leading the way, I have no doubt that we’re gonna keep growing, reaching more fans, and making sports coverage even better—so y’all better buckle up!"
As VP of Sports Media & Digital Strategy, Trey will lead efforts to enhance coverage, deepen audience engagement, and grow Magic Mile Media’s sports division.
