KPD Arrest Suspect for Attempted Gun Safe Break-In at Walmart
On February 2, 2025, the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad, and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of a suspect actively attempting to break into a gun safe at Walmart. Officers arrived on the scene and quickly took Anthony Wooten (24 of Kinston) into custody.
Wooten, who was charged with two counts of larceny of a firearm, three counts of injury to property, safecracking, and parking in a fire lane, remains in custody at the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
