Obituary: Kristen Carol Grant

Kristen Carol Grant, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, in her hometown of Kinston, NC, after a battle with illness. Born on August 20, 1979, Kristen's infectious smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy, Kristen carried the spirit of her education throughout her life. She furthered her studies at Meredith College and Lenoir Community College, where she cultivated her passion for learning and creativity. Kristen's friends and family will always remember her as a loving and friendly soul, someone who could light up a room with her creative ideas and warm presence. Kristen's life was a testament to the power of love in its most genuine form.

As the beloved mother of Brianna Grant, she instilled values of kindness and compassion in her daughter, her pride and joy. Kristen's mother, Judy Grant, and her father, Frankie Grant, raised her with a strong sense of family and community, which she upheld throughout her life. She was a cherished niece to Connie and Jeff Whitfield and a treasured cousin to Mallory Whitfield. Kristen often reminisced about her brother, Chip Grant, and her aunt, Myra Dawson, who both preceded her in death, as well as her dear grandparents, Roy and Faye Pierce, and Jesse and Doris, whose memories she held close. Kristen's biological roots also extended to Stephen Wallace and his family.

Kristen's legacy is one of love and friendship, a legacy that will be carried on through the stories and memories shared by those who knew her best. Her capacity to listen and her willingness to lend a hand made her a trusted confidante and a true friend. Kristen's spirit and the love she shared will forever be a part of the lives she touched. Her laughter, her empathetic ear, and her quirky personality will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

As we say goodbye to Kristen, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy.
