Rachel Noble: A bright future in agricultural law rooted in LCPS
Rachel Noble is going to NC State in style, as one of 40 students selected for the Park Scholarship program. The South Lenoir High School senior has been awarded the highly competitive Park Scholarship, a four-year, full-ride merit scholarship that recognizes students for their leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to service. This incredible achievement is just one highlight of Rachel’s standout high school journey, which has been packed with academic success, athletic achievements, and a deep-rooted passion for agriculture.
Balancing a packed schedule of academics and activities is no small feat, but Rachel approaches it all with passion and determination. A dedicated member of South Lenoir’s cross country and track teams, she has found a second family in her teammates. She’s also a competitive dancer, immersing herself in several different styles of dance. Her love for movement and expression has been a constant in her life, shaping her confidence and discipline.
Rachel grew up on her family’s Christmas tree farm, Noble Tree Farm. Whether she was trimming branches, preparing handmade wreaths, or chatting with visitors, she gained an appreciation for agriculture’s impact on her community. Her father, a long-time agriculture teacher and school principal, played a pivotal role in encouraging her to dive deeper into the field. Through her involvement in Future Farmers of America, she discovered her voice as a leader and advocate, which led to her aspiration of becoming an agricultural lawyer.
“South Lenoir really allowed me to explore my interests in agriculture and leadership,” Rachel shared. “I joined as many clubs and activities as possible to build connections and skills. It’s been an amazing experience.”
Through South Lenoir’s dual enrollment opportunities, Rachel has earned her high school diploma while simultaneously completing her associate’s degree at Lenoir Community College. Her love for learning extends beyond the classroom—she thrives on engaging discussions, tackling challenging coursework, and pushing herself academically. Rachel credits her success to the unwavering support of her teachers, mentors, and friends within LCPS. From her early years at Moss Hill Elementary and Woodington Middle School to her current experiences at South Lenoir, she has found a network of encouragement every step of the way.
“LCPS has been more than just a school system—it’s been a family,” Rachel said. “The connections I’ve built, the teachers who have mentored me, and the programs available have all contributed to who I am today.”
As she prepares for the next chapter, Rachel looks ahead with excitement. She plans to major in Agricultural Business Management before pursuing law school. Her goal is clear: to advocate for farmers, influence agricultural policy, and make a lasting impact on rural communities. No matter where her path takes her, one thing is certain—her roots in Lenoir County will always ground her, and she hopes to one day return to give back to the community that has given her so much.
