Lenoir/Greene United Way announces 2025 investment awards
Lenoir/Greene United Way is pleased to announce their investment awards for 2025. The longstanding nonprofit organization is focused on supporting local programs that deliver measurable impact and outcomes in the areas of education, health and financial sustainability. The 2025 grant awards, totaling $127,000 are made possible by the United Way’s community campaign, individual donors and fundraising events.
2025 Community Impact Awards
First Presbyterian Church “Backpack Buddies” program – identifies and delivers packaged backpacks with food to local school children in need.
Greene County Interfaith – food pantry and disaster relief organization serving Greene County that provides both pick-up and delivery services for individuals facing food insecurity as well as essential needs.
Greene Lamp Community Action – program support for essential needs and services including food, rental and utility assistance.
Habitat for Humanity – Affordable housing and home ownership program with grant award to support roofing needs for homes built in Lenoir County.
Mary’s Kitchen – program support for hot meals provided daily to those in need.

American Red Cross – program support for home fires in Lenoir and Greene Counties.
Boys and Girls Club of Greene County – program support for after-school education.
Boys and Girls Club of Lenoir County – program support for after-school education.
Boy Scouts – program support for school kits for minority Scout Reach program.
Friends of the Homeless Shelter – program support for homeless shelter.
Greene County Senior Center – program support for Ensure nutritional supplement for senior population.
Hope Restorations – program support for transitional housing programs for men and women in recovery.
ICOR – program support for individuals seeking food, rental or utility assistance.
Lenoir County Council on Aging – program support for ramp construction for senior population.
Raising Awareness for the Developmentally Disabled (RADD) – program support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
SAFE – program support for domestic violence shelter and education for individuals facing domestic abuse.
