Last Wednesday, we heard from Gov. Josh Stein, who delivered his first "State of the State" address to the General Assembly and other statewide elected officials.
The General Assembly has also given its final approval of House Bill 47, the fourth round of Hurricane Helene Relief. The final bill includes: over $300M for agricultural loss across the state, $120M for home rebuilding and repair, $100M for repair of prioritized private roads and bridges, $55M for small business infrastructure grants, $20M for debris removal, $10M to support volunteer organizations helping with active rebuilding, $4M for targeted marketing for tourism, and more. The bill also extends regulatory relief for those in the recovery process.
