Obituary: Alma Jenkins
Alma Gayle Heath Jenkins, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on October 4, 1943, in Greene County, North Carolina, Gayle was the beloved daughter of Althea Reddick Heath Langley and John William Heath.
Gayle was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, Kenny Heath, husband, Bobby Carmon Jenkins, Sr., and daughter, Lorie Ann Jenkins. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Wendy Gayle Dulaney and her husband, Matt; son, Bobby "Robby" Carmon Jenkins, Jr. and his wife Melanie; and daughter, Suzanne Jenkins Freeman and her husband, Greg.
Her legacy also lives on through her many grandchildren, Kaycie Alderson, Becky Taylor (Dan), Chris Jennings (Heather), Logan Jennings (Daina), Robyn Bechel, Carmen Aitken (Ethan), Chase Jenkins (Michaela), Scotty Freeman (Laken), Baylee Freeman, Carson Jenkins, Colby Jenkins, Gia Freeman, Ava Grace Jenkins, Johnathan Freeman, and Carlee Freeman. Gayle was blessed with 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren.
Gayle’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved with all her heart. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Woodington Ward, and her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her existence. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love made her a treasured presence in the lives of those who knew her.
A celebration of Gayle’s life will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025, with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m., with funeral services at 4:00 p.m., to be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Woodington Ward, 6655 Hwy. 258 S., Deep Run, NC, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and reflect on the profound impact she had on their lives. Graveside services at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Farmville, NC at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2025.
Gayle, "The World's Cutest Grandma," will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
