Obituary: Alma Loraine "Rainne" Murillo
Kinston – Alma Loraine “Rainne” Murillo, 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025, 2 P.M., at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, NC.
Rainne was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, dog mom (to Angel and Poppy), a mother figure to nieces nephews, and friends. She was always there when you needed her, always putting others before herself, and never holding a grudge.
She loved Jesus, spending time with her loving husband of 41 years, fishing, yard-selling, dancing, cooking, and gardening. Rainne also loved a little carpentry, a skill she had learned from her father. She liked classis cars, antiques, and doing anything with family and friends. In those quiet moments she loved to paint, Rainne was a wonderful artist.
Rainne had a very special place in her heart for animals. She had a successful dog grooming business for over 35 years where she made many friends, human and K9 alike. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Rainne is proceeded in death by her parents, Leonard Potter and Alma Lucille Potter; her brother Earl Potter; and her sister, Mary Potter.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Cirenio Murillo; sister, Joan Creel; brother, Bobby Potter and his wife, Sheila; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Joey Potter, Hector Mayen, Susanna Mayen, Jenny Eubanks, Mary Creel, Bobby and Sheila Potter, nurses Ms. Sheila Hightower and Mrs. Crystal Hood, as well as Mrs. Hood’s husband Mike, and sister-in-law Ms. Virginia Turner, for their compassion, care, and unwavering support.
