Christian Music Festival Returns to Pearson Park on April 12

Pearson Park will once again come alive with the sound of praise and fellowship as the Spirit of Lenoir Christian Music Festival returns for its second year on Saturday, April 12, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event, organized by Spirit of Lenoir Christian Music Festival and sponsored by a coalition of Lenoir County churches and local organizations. Mitchell Street will be blocked off from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. to allow for staging, traffic control, and accessibility.

“We’re excited to welcome the community back,” said O’Neal, who chairs the festival’s organizing committee. “Last year we had around 600 people, and we’d love to see a thousand or more this year.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and arrive after 2:30 p.m. The concert program kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to conclude around 9:30 p.m. Four bands will take the stage, including regional and nationally recognized Christian artists: Small Town Sunday, the Jason Lovins Band, Chosen Road—an Appalachian bluegrass praise group—and Jackson Heights, a veteran band with roots in Nashville.

In addition to music, food and fellowship will be central to the evening. Local food vendors such as Bill’s Grill food truck and an ice cream vendor will be on site, and attendees are encouraged to visit nearby restaurants as well.

Churches that helped sponsor the event will be stationed at tents throughout the park, offering information, resources, and community outreach. The event is free and open to the public.

Restrooms and open seating space will be available. Handicap parking will be available near the Mitchell Street entrance, with volunteers on site to assist guests.

“This is about community, hope, and music that lifts people up,” said O’Neal. “We’re praying for good weather and a great crowd.”
