Lenoir Community College Automotive Program Earns National Accreditation

By: Jimmy Taylor

The automotive training program at Lenoir Community College in Kinston, NC, has achieved a major milestone by receiving ASE Training Program accreditation from the ASE Education Foundation. The program has been accredited in Master Automobile Service Technology, reflecting the highest level of automotive training excellence.

This achievement did not come easily. The program underwent a rigorous evaluation process by the ASE Education Foundation, which assessed critical areas such as instruction quality, facility standards, and available equipment. Meeting these nationally accepted benchmarks demonstrates LCC’s commitment to preparing students for success in the automotive industry.

“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation President. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that Lenoir Community College’s graduates will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by LCC, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will join the workforce.”

The ASE Education Foundation, a non-profit and independent organization, evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs across the country to ensure industry standards are met.

Cleve Meadows, Automotive Systems Technology Instructor at LCC, expressed his enthusiasm about this achievement. “During the past few months, we have worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to make certain that our program would meet strict industry standards, and now we are delighted to join the ranks of ASE-accredited training programs. Students will be assured of a quality education, and shop owners will be assured of getting quality job applicants.”
