Kinston Police apprehend driver in felony hit & run

The Kinston Police Department posted the following on their Facebook page:

An officer on D-Squad observed a Dodge Charger crash into a Chevrolet SUV at the intersection of Herritage Street and Airport Road. As the officer approached the vehicle crash, the Dodge Charger fled the scene. The officer was able to catch up to the Dodge Charger and identify the driver as Ian Adams (36). Adams was taken into custody for Felony Hit & Run and Driving While Impaired.

The vehicle that Adams struck was a Maury Prison transport vehicle. One passenger in the vehicle was taken to UNC Lenoir for non life threatening injuries.
